Background: The Software Engineering Code of Ethics and Professional Practice is the international standard for professional software development and ethical responsibility. It was recommended by the IEEE-CS/ACM Joint Task Force on Software Engineering Ethics and Professional Practices  and jointly approved by the ACM and the IEEE-CS as the standard for teaching and practicing software engineering.
